Hiking with a guide to Rødåsen

In collaboration with “Ut i det fri AS” a local guide, the tour goes from the hotel southwards along the water in flat and somewhat rugged terrain. The goal is Rødåsen in the Rødsåsen nature reserve, one of the three highest peaks on Jeløy, which offers panoramic views south and west into the Oslofjord. We fire up a primus and make good old-fashioned campfire coffee while we enjoy the view and hear stories from the local community. Rødsåsen nature reserve is located within the Søndre Jeløy landscape conservation area in Moss, in its south-western part, west of Alby. In 2021, the State Administrator (formerly the county governor) has applied to have the area protected. There was already a settlement here in the Old Stone Age.
