On selected Fridays at 19.00 o´clock, we gather in the bar for an aperitif before descending to our unique wine cellar at 19.30. Here, with vaulted ceilings from the 18th century and thick stone walls lined with thousands of wine bottles, we house one of Norway’s largest collections and likely the oldest wine cellar in history.
In the wine cellar, participants will receive an introduction to the world of wine. Then, for starter, main course, cheese and dessert, you will be served two different wines, so-called vertical tasting, with each course.
In this way, you will learn by smelling and enjoying how 8 wines taste with the food you are served this evening. It will be explained why the various wines most likely suit the food served better than others, while it is always subjective which wine the individual prefers. The wine expert will explain about grape types, regions and typical tastes, and there will be a good opportunity to ask questions. It all ends with Petits Fours and coffee in the bar. Here you can continue the evening if you wish, with a Cognac or perhaps a little more wine?
