Restaurant Munch

Monday – Saturday 18.00 – 22.00 (the kitchen closes at 21)
Sunday – Closed

Restaurant Munch is idyllically located on the first floor of the old main building. A classic restaurant in soft colors decorated with eight works by Edvard Munch. Our well-tended garden reveals itself outside large windows. And from the built-in glass veranda you can enjoy the sunset over the Oslo Fjord.

Wine cellar

The wine cellar is located downstairs in the oldest part of the building, which was built in 1767. It was originally used as a kitchen. The walls are the original foundation of the main house. In the ceiling, you can see a round steel plate that covers the hole left by the exhaust from the original, wood-burning stove. The pipe goes through the pillar in the restaurant and the Royal Palace to a chimney in the roof.

Exquisite meals in historic surroundings

Wine course with 4-course dinner

On some selected Fridays at 19.30 we meet in our unique wine cellar. Here there are vaulted ceilings from the 18th century and thick stone walls filled with 1,000s of wine bottles. This is one of Norway’s finest and probably the wine cellar with the longest history.
