Restaurant Munch is idyllically located on the first floor of the old main building. A classic restaurant in soft colors decorated with eight works by Edvard Munch. Our well-tended garden reveals itself outside large windows. And from the built-in glass veranda you can enjoy the sunset over the Oslo Fjord.

We collaborate with the musicians Daryl McDade & SoulXL, who are more than happy to perform at your event. This Afro-American artist, with roots in the street music scene of Maxwell Street Market, has also served as a background vocalist for none other than Tina Turner.

Wine cellar

Both the surroundings and the content make the wine cellar at Refsnes Gods unique in a Norwegian context. The thick brick walls and the arched ceiling are original from 1767 when the house was built, and it houses one of Norway’s largest wine selections.

Originally, the wine cellar was used as a kitchen, so in the ceiling, you can see a round steel plate covering the hole from the original wood-burning stove’s chimney. The pipe runs through the column in the restaurant and the Kongesalen to a chimney in the ceiling. It is possible to arrange private events in the wine cellar, and our skilled sommelier also regularly conducts wine courses with a 4-course dinner in this unique space.

Exquisite meals in historic surroundings

Afternoon Tea at the stately Refsnes Estate

Saturdays from 13.00 – 16.00

We serve delicious finger sandwiches, freshly baked scones, home-made jam, clotted cream, sweet delicacies and cakes which are served on platters together with your choice of tea.

Wine course with 4-course dinner

On selected Fridays at 7:30 PM, we gather in our unique wine cellar. It features 18th-century vaulted ceilings and thick stone walls filled with thousands of wine bottles. This is one of Norway’s most magnificent and likely the oldest wine cellar with a rich history.

The meal begins with a glass of something sparkling, and here you will receive an introduction to the world of wine. Then, for the appetizer, main course, cheese, and dessert, two different wines will be served for each course, known as a vertical tasting.
